Round 7 Wrap
Round 7 ends with the Pinheads still undefeated!
In Game 1 the Bulles overcame a 3-0 deficit to ultimately defeat the HotDogs. Mick Fitzgerald, on debut, was the star for the HotDogs with a goal and an assist to kickstart their scoring and Robbie "Shut Up" Bushell put up 2 goals and 3 assists, but ultimately a hat-trick to April Marshall, 2 goals to Adam Payne and a 3 point game to Marion Huisman was the difference as the Bulles stampede into tied 2nd on the ladder.
Game 2 saw the Pinheads triumph in the top of the table clash with the Trout. The Pinheads overcame multiple deficits thanks to a hat trick from Lachlan Old and 3 point games to Cliff Banks and Zara Dennis. Daniel McPherson (Bogan Diaz) had his first KIHL multi-goal game and both Jack Strutt and Ben Rodgers carried on with their goal streaks, but it was ultimately in vain as the Pinheads claim top spot on the ladder for the first time since their KIHL championship win in Season 2.
Unfortunately in Game 3 the Maitlands proved to be too much for the Planes in a dominant display. Although the Planes kept the game interesting thanks to multi-goal games from Lachlan Taylor and Charlie Gasselin with contributions from Josh Cunningham and Tammy Gasselin, 8 different goal scorers from the Maitlands overwhelmed the Planes' defence.
Finally, in Game 4, the Athenas picked up their first win of the season but nearly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Goals from George Barrett and Nate Gough paved the way, despite Sam McAlister on debut for the Hot Air Balloons picking up a goal and an assist on KIHL debut. Although it's their first win of the season the Athenas are only 3 wins back of the top and with 11 rounds to go, there is still time for anything to happen.
