Round 5 Wrap

The race for playoff spots is heating up, with the 6 teams on top of the ladder separated by a single point!

The Delhis and Hotdogs kicked off the round with a tight affair. Stelios Kondos was as mean as he was Greek, finishing with a pair of goals while Linton Wood and Richard Armour each picked up a goal and two assists for the Delhis. Dave Tripodi had another stellar week in net, saving 39 of 42 shots for a 0.928SV%.

Game two was even closer, with the Bulles besting the Maitlands with a dramatic late goal. Brett Mawer, filling in for the Bulles, picked up two goals and an assist, while Rishi Mukhi (G2 A1 P3), Dynamo (G1 A1 P2) and Jay Marsden-Sayce (G1 A1 P2) fought hard for the Maitlands.

After a few rough rounds, the Athenas finally broke their goose-egg and started their climb on the leaderboard. Alistair Sharp (G1 A0 P1) and new-comer George Barrett (G1 A0 P1) were the stars for the Athenas, while both Brodie Pruha and Marty Truman had outstanding games.

The final match of the round saw a 9-goal second period! James Byrom fought hard for the HABS with an inaugural KIHL hat-trick, while Daniel Patterson potted 2 goals to keep the HABS in touch. Ultimately, the HABS were blown away by the Pinheads 7 different goal scorers, with Jake Adamsons (G2 A2 P4) and Trashman (G2 A2 P4) picking up doubles.
