Round 3 Wrap

Another week in the books for the KIHL!

Game 1 of the week saw the Hotdogs double-up on the Shut Up Maitlands, with Christine Dutton (G2 A2 P4 +4) and Loky McPherson (G2 A1 P3 +1) leading the charge for the Dogs who capped off the win with Adam Bradley's first goal into the empty net! A 32 save night from Brodie Pruha (SV% 0.941), 3 assists from Zak Lecroix and two goals apiece from Rishi Mukhi and Jay Marsden-Sayce not enough to keep the Maitlands in the game.

Game 2 was a much tighter affair. A depleted Delhis were on the back foot early after a first period hat trick to Captain Fish Cam Kuc. Each team had contributions up and down the lineup, with a late goal and an assist to Erin "Go Duncan Miller" Dolan a highlight for the assembled crowd.

Game 3 on Tuesday saw April Marshall (G2 A1 P3 +2) take charge with two second period goals to help the Bulles stampede over the Athenas and keep them winless to start the season. A valiant effort from Brodie Pruha to remain in the game despite a lower body injury and prevent Piece of Mesh from returning this season. Benjamin Meldrum picked up assists on both Athenas goals, while Zoe Chan scored her first point in KIHL with an assist.

What shaped up to be another tight game in Game 4 exploded with a 12-goal second period. The Planes had 6 different goal scorers, with Charlie Gasselin (G2 A1 P3 +1) leading the way while Jake Adamsons (G2 A1 P3 +2), Jackson Seccombe (G2 A1 P3 +5) and Lachlan Old (G2 A1 P3 +1) all picked up multiple goals for the Pinheads as the Pinheads scored the final 6 goals of the game unanswered in the last 10 minutes.
