Pinheads Win Season 6
The Pinheads have won their second KIHL Championship, defeating the Maitlands in an entertaining Grand Final in front of over 100 spectators at the Olympic Ice Skating Centre.
Despite their dominant regular season and putting the first goal on the board, the Maitlands were overrun in the first period as the Pinheads came out looking for revenge for their heavy loss in the Grand Final in Season 5. Jake Adamsons had put up a hat trick before the end of the first period and all players except two found their way onto the scoreboard. Despite the Maitlands outshooting the Pinheads with 41 to 33 shot attempts, Tommy Richter was unflappable in goal with 25 saves (0.962% SV) in the first period and the Pinheads combined for 6 blocked shots in the first period compared to the Maitlands 1.
Things improved in the second period for the Maitlands who put up 6 goals to mount a valiant comeback, led by fill-in Top 8 Vinson Li (3G 2A 5P + 4) and Luke Harris (2G + 2), but it wasn't enough in the end as the Pinheads emerge victorious.
An incredible performance from all players involved. Already looking forward to Season 7 in just a few weeks.
